A quick, easy, and festive dessert board featuring fresh berries, creamy mascarpone, crunchy cookies, and sweet drizzles, perfect for July 4th celebrations and casual summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries (optional)
  • Mascarpone cheese, room temperature
  • Whipped cream or whipped coconut cream (for dairy-free option)
  • Honey or maple syrup, for drizzling
  • Mini marshmallows or red-white-blue sprinkles
  • Graham crackers or vanilla wafers, broken into bite-sized pieces
  • Roasted almonds or pecans, lightly salted (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Rinse all berries gently under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Hull and halve the strawberries for bite-sized pieces. Keep blueberries and raspberries whole. Set aside on a clean plate or bowl.
  2. If using mascarpone, let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before assembling so it spreads easily. Whip your cream if using fresh or coconut whipped cream, and transfer to a small bowl.
  3. Start by placing small bowls or ramekins with whipped cream and honey on your serving board to create focal points and keep drippy items contained.
  4. Place the strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries in small piles around the board, mixing colors to create a festive look. Add broken graham crackers or vanilla wafers in between fruit clusters for contrast.
  5. Use a small spoon or offset spatula to place generous dollops of mascarpone cheese in open spots to add creamy texture.
  6. Sprinkle roasted almonds or pecans lightly over the board, and toss on mini marshmallows or sprinkles to boost the patriotic vibe.
  7. Tuck in mint sprigs here and there for a pop of green and fresh aroma.
  8. Just before serving, lightly drizzle honey or maple syrup over the fruit and mascarpone for extra sweetness and shine.

Notes

Use ripe but firm berries to avoid sogginess. Toast nuts briefly in a dry pan for extra flavor. Assemble no more than an hour before serving and keep chilled if hot outside. Drizzle honey last to maintain texture. Customize with seasonal fruits or add spices like cinnamon for variety.
