These lighter deviled eggs use Greek yogurt instead of mayo and a kick of sriracha for a creamy, spicy filling. Topped with a fun spider web design, they’re perfect for Halloween parties or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt (for spider web)
  • 1 teaspoon milk or water (for spider web)
  • A few drops of black food coloring or black sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water by 1 inch. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, then cover, turn off heat, and let sit for 12 minutes.
  2. Transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water and let sit for at least 5 minutes.
  3. Peel eggs, rinse under cool water, and pat dry.
  4. Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Remove yolks to a small bowl. Arrange whites on a serving plate.
  5. Add Greek yogurt, sriracha, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Spoon filling into a piping bag or zip-top bag with a small round tip. Pipe filling into each egg white half, mounding slightly.
  7. In a tiny bowl, stir together 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt and 1 teaspoon milk or water until smooth. Add black food coloring if desired.
  8. Spoon spider web mixture into a small piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny snipped corner. Pipe a small dot in the center of each egg, then pipe 3-4 concentric circles around it.
  9. Using a toothpick or skewer, drag lines from the center dot outward through the circles, creating a spider web pattern.
  10. Sprinkle with smoked paprika and add black sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate.

Notes

For best peeling, use eggs that are at least a week old. Pipe spider webs just before serving for the best visual effect. The filling can be made a day ahead.
