This air fryer honey mustard chicken breast is quick, easy, and unbelievably juicy. With a perfect balance of sweet and tangy, it’s a weeknight dinner hero that turns simple ingredients into a caramelized, crowd-pleasing meal in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika preferred)
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound total)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, whole grain mustard, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Set aside 2 tablespoons of the glaze for basting later.
  3. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If uneven in thickness, pound to about ¾-inch thick.
  4. Place the chicken in the bowl with the remaining glaze, turning to coat thoroughly. Let marinate at room temperature for 10 minutes (or refrigerate up to 4 hours).
  5. Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving at least ½ inch between pieces.
  6. Cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Flip the chicken using tongs and brush or spoon the reserved glaze over the top.
  8. Cook for another 5-8 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part.
  9. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Slice against the grain into ½-inch thick pieces. Drizzle with pan juices and garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.

Notes

Pat chicken dry for best glaze adhesion. Use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Let chicken rest before slicing. For extra sauce, make 1.5 times the glaze recipe. If glaze browns too quickly, reduce air fryer temperature by 10-15°F.
