A quick and easy Halloween popcorn mix that’s perfect for parties, school events, or spooky movie nights. This sweet-and-salty treat combines crunchy popcorn, chewy candy corn, salty pretzels, and white chocolate for a crowd-pleasing snack that comes together in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup unpopped kernels)
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate melting wafers (about 250g)
  • 1 cup candy corn (about 150g)
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks, broken into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup Halloween M&Ms (about 100g)
  • 1 cup pumpkin-shaped marshmallows (about 80g, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Halloween sprinkles
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn: If using kernels, pop them in an air popper or on the stovetop. You’ll need about 8 cups of popped popcorn. Spread it out on a baking sheet and pick out any unpopped kernels. Let it cool completely.
  2. Prep your mix-ins: Break the pretzel sticks into 1-inch pieces. Sort through the candy corn to remove any broken pieces. Set aside the M&Ms and pumpkin marshmallows.
  3. Melt the white chocolate: Place the white chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each one, until fully melted and smooth (about 1-2 minutes total). If it seems thick, add a teaspoon of coconut oil and stir until smooth.
  4. Combine the base: Put the cooled popcorn in a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted white chocolate over the top. Use a spatula to gently fold everything together, coating the popcorn as evenly as possible.
  5. Add the mix-ins: While the chocolate is still warm, add the candy corn, broken pretzel sticks, and M&Ms. Fold them in gently, making sure they’re distributed throughout the popcorn.
  6. Spread and decorate: Turn the mixture out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread it into an even layer. While the chocolate is still tacky, press the pumpkin marshmallows into the top and sprinkle with Halloween sprinkles.
  7. Add the finishing touch: Sprinkle the pinch of sea salt over everything.
  8. Let it set: Allow the popcorn mix to cool completely at room temperature, about 20 minutes. If in a hurry, refrigerate for 10 minutes. The chocolate should be firm and no longer sticky.
  9. Break it up: Once set, break the mixture into clusters. Leave some pieces larger for a dramatic effect.

Notes

Use room-temperature popcorn to prevent chocolate from seizing. Don’t use too much chocolate—a thin, even coating is best. Work quickly after adding chocolate before it sets. For dairy-free, use dairy-free white chocolate and skip marshmallows. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels. Best eaten within 2 days for optimal texture.
