This quick and easy cranberry jalapeño cream cheese dip comes together in under 5 minutes with zero cooking required. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and creamy—a festive holiday appetizer that disappears before the main course.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries (if frozen, thaw and drain well)
  • 1–2 fresh jalapeños, finely diced (seeds removed for milder heat)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (toasted for extra flavor)
  • Crackers, crostini, or vegetable sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Take cream cheese out of fridge about 30 minutes before starting. It should be room temperature and soft. In a hurry, microwave for 10-15 seconds until soft but not melted.
  2. Prepare the cranberry mixture: In a medium bowl, combine cranberries, diced jalapeño, sugar, honey, and lime juice. Stir until sugar starts to dissolve. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until cranberries release juices and mixture becomes slightly syrupy.
  3. Mash the cranberries slightly: Using the back of a fork or potato masher, gently mash about half of the cranberries to create a jammy texture while leaving some whole berries.
  4. Mix the base: In serving dish or separate bowl, spread softened cream cheese into an even layer. Use a spatula to create swoops and swirls.
  5. Top with cranberry mixture: Spoon cranberry jalapeño mixture evenly over cream cheese, spreading it out so every bite gets some.
  6. Add finishing touches: Sprinkle chopped cilantro and toasted nuts over the top.
  7. Chill (optional but recommended): Let dip sit in fridge for 15-20 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld and cream cheese to firm up slightly.
  8. Serve: Arrange crackers, crostini, or vegetable sticks around the dip.

Notes

For best results, let the dip sit in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before serving. Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation. The cranberry mixture can be made up to two days ahead and stored in the fridge. Toast nuts at 350°F for 5-7 minutes until fragrant for extra flavor. If using frozen cranberries, thaw and drain well to avoid watery dip.
