A refreshing and kid-approved fall fruit salad with a creamy honey yogurt dressing, featuring apples, pears, grapes, pomegranate, and toasted pecans. Perfect for a healthy snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium Honeycrisp apples, diced (about 1½ cups)
  • 2 medium ripe Bartlett pears, diced (about 1½ cups)
  • 1 cup red seedless grapes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh pomegranate arils (about 1 large pomegranate)
  • ½ cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 3 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  2. Wash and dice the apples into bite-sized pieces (about ½-inch cubes). Add to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Wash and dice the pears into bite-sized pieces. Add to the bowl with the apples.
  4. Wash and halve the grapes lengthwise. Add to the bowl.
  5. Cut the pomegranate in half horizontally. Hold one half over the bowl, cut side down, and smack the back firmly with a wooden spoon to release the arils. Remove any white pith. Add to the bowl.
  6. In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the chopped pecans for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Let cool completely.
  7. Pour the prepared dressing over the fruit and gently fold until evenly coated.
  8. Sprinkle the toasted pecans over the top and gently fold in. If serving later, add nuts just before serving.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat Greek yogurt to ensure a thick dressing. Toast the pecans for enhanced flavor. The salad is best enjoyed within 24 hours. For a dairy-free version, use thick coconut yogurt. To prevent apple browning, toss with a little lemon juice.
