These easy creamy sheet pan turkey pinwheel roll-ups are a quick, crowd-pleasing snack featuring puff pastry, cream cheese, deli turkey, and cheddar cheese baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 6 oz sliced deli turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried chives)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for sprinkling (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or dill for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, chopped chives, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll puff pastry into a 12×9 inch rectangle, slightly thinner than original thickness.
  4. Spread the creamy mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border on all sides.
  5. Layer deli turkey slices evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the turkey layer.
  7. Roll the pastry tightly from one long edge into a log, sealing the edge by pressing the dough border gently.
  8. Slice the roll into 1-inch pinwheels using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  9. Place pinwheels cut side up on the prepared sheet pan, spacing about 1 inch apart.
  10. Brush each pinwheel with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown. Tent with foil if edges brown too quickly.
  12. Cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Soften cream cheese at room temperature for 30 minutes before mixing to avoid tearing puff pastry. Chill dough if rolling is difficult. Slice pinwheels evenly in one smooth motion to keep layers intact. Bake on parchment paper with space between pinwheels to prevent sogginess. Pinwheels can be assembled and sliced the night before and refrigerated. Freeze unbaked pinwheels on a tray before transferring to a freezer bag; bake from frozen adding 5-7 minutes.
