A creamy, kid-friendly buffalo chicken dip shaped like a spider web, perfect for Halloween parties or football Sundays. Made with simple ingredients and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken works great)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (for spider web)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (to thin sour cream)
  • Black olives, sliced (for spider body)
  • Pretzel sticks or celery sticks (for spider legs)
  • Tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, or bell pepper strips (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Shred chicken into small pieces if using rotisserie.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, soften cream cheese, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  3. Stir in sour cream, buffalo wing sauce, and ranch dressing until well combined and smooth.
  4. Fold in shredded chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella over the top. Stir gently until cheese melts. Remove from heat.
  6. Transfer dip to a round serving dish or pie plate and spread into an even layer.
  7. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sour cream with 1 tablespoon milk until thin enough to pipe. Spoon into a piping bag or zip-top bag and snip a tiny corner.
  8. Pipe concentric circles of sour cream on top of the dip, starting from the center. Use a knife or toothpick to drag from center outward through all circles, creating web lines. Repeat 6-8 times around the dip.
  9. Optional: Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes until hot and bubbly. Let cool 2-3 minutes.
  10. Place sliced black olives in the center for the spider body. Arrange pretzel sticks or celery sticks around olives for legs.
  11. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, or bell pepper strips.

Notes

For a milder version, use 1/4 cup buffalo sauce and 1/4 cup melted butter. The dip can be made ahead (without spider web) and refrigerated for up to 24 hours. Reheat before adding web design. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 4 days.
