A spooky and delicious Halloween appetizer featuring a creamy buffalo chicken base topped with a white frosting spider web design. This dip is quick to make, uses simple pantry ingredients, and is perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups cooked rotisserie chicken, shredded
  • ½ cup buffalo sauce
  • ¼ cup blue cheese dressing (optional)
  • ½ cup white vanilla frosting (in a squeeze bottle)
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a shallow serving bowl.
  2. In a saucepan or skillet over medium-low heat, add softened cream cheese and ranch dressing. Stir constantly until smooth and glossy, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and shredded chicken until evenly coated and cheese is melted.
  4. Transfer mixture to the prepared serving bowl and spread into an even layer.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until hot and bubbling. Remove from oven and let rest for 2 minutes.
  6. Place white frosting in a squeeze bottle. Squeeze a dot in the center of the dip.
  7. Drag a toothpick from the center outward to the edge to create spokes (repeat 6-8 times).
  8. Drag the toothpick in a circular motion from the outside edge toward the center to create the web pattern.
  9. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps. Use full-fat block cream cheese for best texture. If the dip is too hot to pipe, wait 2 minutes. If too cold, microwave for 30 seconds. The frosting web should be added right before serving to prevent melting. For a lighter version, substitute half the cream cheese with Greek yogurt.
