cozy witchs brew green punch - featured image

A creamy, fizzy, and sweet Halloween punch made with just lime sherbet and lemon-lime soda. This simple recipe is perfect for parties and comes together in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 quart (about 4 cups) lime sherbet
  • 2 liters lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7UP)
  • 23 drops green food coloring (optional)
  • 23 limes, sliced (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint sprigs (optional, for garnish)
  • Gummy worms or spiders (optional, for garnish)
  • Ice ring or ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill the lime sherbet in the freezer for at least 30 minutes and the lemon-lime soda in the refrigerator before starting.
  2. Place your punch bowl in its serving spot. If using an ice ring, place it in the bottom of the bowl now.
  3. Scoop the entire quart of lime sherbet into the punch bowl, making large round scoops arranged so they are touching but not squished.
  4. Slowly pour the chilled lemon-lime soda over the sherbet scoops, pouring around the edges to preserve bubbles. If using regular ice cubes, add them now.
  5. If desired, mix 2-3 drops of green food coloring with a tablespoon of soda, then drizzle into the punch and stir gently once or twice.
  6. Garnish with lime slices, mint sprigs, and gummy worms or spiders as desired.
  7. Serve immediately, ladling the punch into cups and ensuring each serving gets some melting sherbet. Stir gently every 15-20 minutes to keep it consistent.

Notes

For best results, chill the soda for at least 4 hours. Use big scoops of sherbet for slower melting. Stir gently to preserve carbonation. For a boozy version, replace 1 cup of soda with coconut rum or vodka. For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free lime sorbet or coconut-based lime sherbet. Do not store leftovers; the punch is best fresh.
