A warm, salty, herb-flecked Chex mix with ranch seasoning and fresh rosemary, perfect for cozy nights, game days, or gifting. This easy snack comes together in minutes and delivers irresistible crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups assorted Chex cereal (Corn, Rice, and Wheat Chex, about 3 cups each)
  • 1 cup pretzel twists, broken into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup bagel chips or mini bagel chips (optional)
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (roasted, unsalted cashews and almonds recommended)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 9 cups Chex cereal, 1 cup broken pretzels, 1 cup bagel chips (if using), and 1 cup mixed nuts. Toss gently to distribute.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt 6 tablespoons butter with 2 tablespoons olive oil until melted and gently bubbling (about 2-3 minutes). Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, the entire packet of ranch seasoning, 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh rosemary, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne (if using). Whisk until combined.
  5. Slowly drizzle the warm butter mixture over the dry cereal mix. Gently fold and toss until every piece is coated. Use your hands for the final toss if desired.
  6. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the coated mix in a single, even layer. Use a second sheet if needed.
  7. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes, until golden and fragrant.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet for at least 15-20 minutes.
  9. Break apart any clumps with your fingers. Serve at room temperature.

Notes

Fresh rosemary is key for best flavor; dried can be used but reduce to 1 tablespoon. Don’t skip stirring every 15 minutes to prevent burning. Let cool completely before storing to maintain crunch. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
