These air fryer chicken thighs feature a crispy, cheesy garlic parmesan coating with tender, juicy meat underneath. Ready in under 30 minutes, they’re perfect for busy weeknights or cozy comfort food cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 2 pounds total)
  • 45 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese (preferably Parmigiano-Reggiano)
  • 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine grated Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, paprika, and dried oregano. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken thighs and use your hands to coat evenly. Press each thigh into the Parmesan mixture, coating both sides.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for about 3 minutes.
  5. Place the breaded chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching. Work in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry at 375°F for 12 minutes. Flip each thigh using tongs, then cook for another 10-12 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the skin is deeply golden and crisp.
  7. Let the chicken rest in the air fryer basket for 2-3 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Pat the chicken dry thoroughly for crispy skin. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F. If cooking multiple batches, keep the first batch warm in a 200°F oven on a wire rack to maintain crispiness.
